Whispers From The Past

Last night was our first walk of the year. We had a family come in from Denver so their oldest son could check out Mesa University. The weather held. This family goes on local ghost walks when they visit different locations. It is a good way to learn history and fun places to visit while on vacation. This family is active so they were excited to see our local downtown shops such as Gear Junction and Gearhead Outfitters. Grand Junction downtown has a little bit of something for everyone.

On Apr 12th, we had our first Easter Egg Hunt/History Walk downtown. Not a large group but the participating stores were amazing and very much appreciated. Colorado Baby, Board Fox Games ,Working Artist Gallery, Bella Belsamics, So Mica Bloomtiques, and Bejaranos Barber Shop. There were coupons, free goodies, and candy. It was fun seeing the customer and store interactions. I love our downtown

We had a busy weekend this Memorial Day Weekend. Saturday’s walk was a great group of women. Some of them wanted to play with the EMF detectors and were excited when they lit up to different colors. We have a couple of stops that we might pull out the dousing rods. They didn’t disappoint. We used them in a location we know to be active but never “talked” to anyone. We know there is a man that haunts that building and he seemed happy to be able to communicate. We will have to visit more often. Sunday I went out with a couple of ladies from Castle Rock. They are interested in history, so I made the walk a little bit longer and gave them a few extra stories. It got pretty windy, but we presevered.

We have a local bookstore that seems to have some activity, inside and out. Dousing rods have been giving us a bit of activity. There has been reports of a man inside and we have had knocking on the window, which happened to the tour over the weekend.

The book store has been a bit active again. The door rattled the other night like someone was trying to get in or get out. We think we know who the spirit is, but you have to take the walk to hear the story. I never did post, but we had a woman spirit standing at the window one night, trying to get our attention. I believe they are enjoying their stories being told.
